4 Things to do when you’re having a hard time

Good Evening ☔️

Trust you had a sweet rocking weekend like mine. So many testimonies 🙈🙊. Really thank God.

So I was chatting with a wonderful brother of mine all the way in Ghana and it got to a point that he told me that he was having a hard time with his faith and that people where trying to make things difficult for him. I could totally relate. Such difficulties can come from any angle: Either through the enticement of others to go back to doing the old ways (Proverbs 1:10) or through discouragement( John 15:19).

So I told him 4 things to remember in such situations

1. Jesus is praying for you.

You can say at some point Peter was a baby Christian. Because like the other disciples he had issues with faith and healing the sick. Although he claimed to love Jesus he still denied him at the trial. But Jesus was always supporting, teaching and praying for him?(Luke22:32). He is still doing so for us.

2. You have the help of the Holy Spirit

Jesus did not live us without a comforter, a teacher, a supporter and a guide. We don’t just need to believe in Jesus, we need to accept the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

3. Rejoice always

No matter what the world throws at you, what the devil throws at you or what this life throws at you, remember to count it all joy because you have a glorious future now in God. Rejoice in every situation because you have victory. Always be thankful because absolutely nothing can separate you from God’s love (James 1:2-4).

4. You are not alone

There are so many others going through similar things as you are all over the world, some even worse (1 Peter5:8-9). But it is important to know that we in Christ look out for each other. I have a wonderful friend that prays with me when she comes visiting and it’s so encouraging. Find someone in Christ that can admonish and encourage you. You don’t have to run the race alone( Jesus had close wonderful men he took around with him. Who are your close friends?)

SHALOM.

Bible references to keep in heart(written in order)

Proverbs 1:10
My son, if sinners entice you,do not consent.

John 15:19
If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

Luke 22:32
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

1 John 2:1-2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
