You can change the world

You can’t simply sit back, fold your arms, and change the world.

Whatever assignment you’ve been given to fulfill in life isn’t going to come knocking on your door randomly.

Let’s explore therefore how we can change our world and impact the lives of those connected to us.

***

I was lying on my bed early in the morning, meditating and admiring some amazing people who had achieved greatly. I was also thinking of what I needed to do to add value to people. That’s were true success shines forth; not in doing things for ourselves alone but in adding value to other people.

Immediately a bible verse dropped in my spirit that the devil goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8).

Now, I’m not trying to devour anybody. I was unsure what the revelation of this verse meant.

Another verse came to mind at that moment that God sent his Son, Jesus, to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10).

It occurred to me that both parties were doing the same thing – eagerly seeking.

So, how will this help me change the world?

We need to actively seek what we want to achieve in life. The principle of ‘seeking and saving the lost’ is a proposition that confirms that. These words reflect the eagerness to add value.

However, before value can be added, it must first exist. What this means is that you cannot give what you do not have. Also, if you are to ‘add’ to something, my dictionary explains that you are increasing in quality, quantity, size, or scope of what already exists.

Brendon Burchard, in his podcast on the topic “Becoming a person of influence”, mentions the importance of character in getting people to trust and admire you.

I smiled because some people find good character difficult to build, even harder to maintain. As he spoke, I thought of the characters of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control embedded in a fruit.

This fruit is not natural to cultivate. It manifests (is born, shows forth, and expressed) from a renewed mind and a transformed spirit.

Another point mentioned by Brendon is showing that you genuinely care for people.

Salvation means to save or deliver from harm. It is a show of great help and sacrifice. It required Jesus to humble himself and be available for us to the extent of giving his life. He was a man of service. Therefore, if we are following principles here, then we need to serve, and we need to do it together.

Change begins in the mind. If a person doesn’t believe he is free he will always act like a slave. The confession of salvation is an affirmation to yourself and everyone around you that you are free.

Those we seek to change need to be confident to admit what they have been saved from and what they are now called to be and to do.

As a Christian, I am saved from sin. I am saved from social degradation. I am saved mentally, spiritually, and physically. I am stronger today because I carry something, albeit Someone, special within me. I am called to a place of light, to show forth and shine forth, so that others that see can find their own light.

And hence begins the change.

Thanks fir this post Adeayo, I particularly love your phrase that says “ we need to do it together “ . Yes change has definitely come, the normal can’t be normal anymore and we as children of light now have to be a light out in the public places. When the Bible say “He heals the broken hearted and bind their wounds” God is not coming down to earth to do this , He is going to use us, our hands, feet, resources etc . Yes “ we can change the world”. Thank you for sharing this. Keep up the good work and God bless you
