The World Needs You

The world needs God.

The world needs the word of God right now, in these dark and trying times.

My heart was so heavy while I was praying concerning everything that’s been going on right now:

The rape and murder cases in Nigeria. The discrimination in many parts of the world and even the protests in America. Not forgetting that we are still facing a pandemic. It’s overwhelming and if you’re as burdened as I am then you know that we need a change.

But as I prayed I realized that the change we need cannot come by our strength or our power. The transformation needs to come from the renewing of our minds.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Romans 12:2 NLT

The renewing of the mind comes from the revelation of God’s word. These two scriptures came to mind:

“He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.”

Psalms 107:20 NLT

“When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.”

Mark 4:39 NLT

We need peace and healing. But the word of God cannot penetrate because of people’s hearts.

“And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart,”

Ezekiel 11:19 NLT

Even the people that have done such evil are able to surrender and repent by receiving the word of God.

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

Hebrews 4:12 NLT

The word of God is powerful enough to call these offenders to order; to cause them to surrender on their own accord- not out of fear of us but out of fear of God.

And yes, God loves them as much as He loves us.

The message is simple- it is not by our power or our might but by the Spirit of God.

The world needs you.

Do not keep silent.

Your voice matters…but in the right way:

Pray for the hearts of the people that there will be a transformation of hearts and minds. That the word of God will penetrate hearts. That God will heal hearts and lands and cities. That God will call offenders and leaders to order. That there will be a change but not by our strength (because our strength is feeble, fleeting and often misplaced) but by His strength and power, the Spirit of God.
