The Christmas spirit

Hello beautiful people. I want to firstly wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.

If you are reading this post, thank you for your support throughout the year and I pray God blesses you greatly.

It was imparted on my heart to write about the Christmas spirit. I cannot say I am completely righteous on this topic but that is what this post is all about – maturing in the Spirit.

The Christmas spirit starts with an appreciation of the one who we celebrate and that is Christ. Without Him being born and the great sacrifice on the cross there will be nothing to celebrate. We are made righteous because of Him. We have his Spirit because he wants us to be like Him and this Spirit bears witness with us that we are children of God.

When I goggled what the Christmas Spirit was about I came across posts that talked about the code of generosity, kindness, and charity. Another spoke of togetherness, selflessness and forgiveness. The words that came to mind personally were love, peace and joy.

As I pondered more on the topic. I realized that for us believers, the Christmas spirit is all these things and more. It shouldn’t just be something that we have one time in the year but fruit that we bear all the days of our lives.

The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.[Galatians 5:22-23 NLT]

The Holy Spirit produces this fruit in our lives. I picture us as a Christmas tree and the fruit as the Christmas ball ornaments hung on it.

Practically bearing this fruit could look like being generous, hospitable, helpful, cheerful, forgiving and understanding; making someone happy ☺️.

I guess the closing question is: Are we bearing the fruit of the Spirit this season?

COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON!!

CHEERS🥂
